Awards for Lady Scot Basketball Team

For obtaining the best Win/Loss record in a Lady Scots basketball season since its start twenty-six years ago, for winning its first playoff game since 2003, for winning three playoff games and advancing to the regional semi-finals, and for being runner-up in District 10-4A (behind state runner-up Rockwall), Head Coach Amy Matlock was awarded District 10-4A Co-Coach of the Year Honors.

In addition to being selected to the 1st Team All District, the 10-4A coaches selected junior Captain Kaitlyn Read as the District's Offensive Player of the Year. Selected to the 2nd Team All District were seniors Libby Ethington, Captain Amanda Goodwin and Captain Sydney McDaniel. Receiving District 10-4A Honorable Mention recognition were junior Courtney Klingaman and sophomore Alex Reynolds.

At the team's banquet, awards were presented to the following players for their outstanding commitment to Lady Scot basketball: Senior Sarah Werner received the Fighting Scot Award. Sophomore Alex Reynolds was recognized for her play with the award for Most Improved. Defensive Player of the Year was awarded to senior Libby Ethington while seniors Amanda Goodwin and Sydney McDaniel shared Offensive Co-Players of the Year. The team's Most Valuable Player of the year award went to junior Kaitlyn Read. Additionally, three players were singled out for achieving the following milestones: Seniors/Captains Sydney McDaniel and Amanda Goodwin - over 500 career points; junior/Captain Kaitlyn Read — over 1,000 points.
