Supporters of the Arthritis Foundation, along with members of the Dallas business community and local golf enthusiasts will join the 27th Annual Swing Against Arthritis Golf Tournament, scheduled for Monday, April 23, at the beautiful Dallas Athletic Club, 4111 La Prada, Mesquite, TX. The purpose of the 2012 Swing Against Arthritis Golf Tournament is to generate awareness about the seriousness of the disease, as well as raise funds to support mission-driven programs. The event’s proceeds will help fund research to find a cure, provide public health/educational programs for those who have this disease and continue the Foundation’s advocacy efforts. Last year, the tournament raised more than $100,000 for the Foundation’s local programs and community outreach services.
The 2012 Arthritis Foundation and the Swing Against Arthritis Golf Tournament will celebrate medical and technological victories in the area of total joint replacement and arthritis research.
More than 725,000 total joint replacements are performed each year. Remarkable strides are being made every day in the treatment of arthritis, and the 2012 Swing Against Arthritis Golf Tournament celebrates those individuals with total joint replacements and their winning battle against this disease.
This year’s tournament is a foursome scramble with registration beginning at noon followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. There will also be a post-tournament banquet, hosted by Mike Doocy, KDFW-TV FOX 4 Sports Anchor, as well as games and a raffle. Golfers will also have an opportunity to participate in silent and live auctions featuring many fantastic items donated by local merchants, as well as unique sports merchandise.
