This year, a local drugstore that is well known for its soda fountain and being a regular stop for famous Dallasites, such as former first lady Laura Bush and real estate giant Ebby Halliday, is turning 100 years old.

Highland Park Pharmacy officially opened its doors in 1912 and to celebrate being open for a century it will be hosting a special week of "prizes, drawings and events" from April 29 to May 5, according to reports.

The drugstore also has a new website, which includes a menu and a timeline that chronicles the history of the Pharmacy.

If you would like a souvenir, the location is selling commemorative t-shirts and other merchandise to celebrate its 100 years of existence.

Founded in 1912, the Highland Park Pharmacy was located on the northeast corner of Knox Street and Travis Street and was part of the Highland Park Grocery. In 1923, the Pharmacy moved to 3229 Knox St. where it is still located to this day.
