JULY 17

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

An officer responded to a reported theft at one of the stores in Preston Plaza at approximately 12:15 AM. The reporting person stated that a black male entered the store, picked up a pair of sunglasses worth $230, and left without paying. 

ACCIDENT INVOLVING INJURY/DEATH

At approximately 4:53 PM, a vehicle crash occurred in the 3200 block of Villanova. The vehicle was being driven by an unknown person, who fled the scene knowing that two other passengers were injured. The vehicle in question was checked and deemed stolen from DeSoto, Texas. 


JULY 18

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH REQUIREMENTS ON STRIKING UNATTENDED VEHICLE

A complainant stated that an unknown vehicle struck his company vehicle's side mirror at approximately 3:30 PM while it was parked in the 3800 block of Stanford Avenue. 


JULY 19

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA 

A driver was stopped by police for a traffic violation in the 2900 block of University Boulevard at approximately 8:19 PM. Police realized the subject had marijuana in the car and arrested him for outstanding warrants and drug possession. 


JULY 20

THEFT UNDER $100

An unknown suspect stole the plates from a vehicle and replaced the rear plate with a fictitious plate containing a racial slur while the vehicle was parked in the 4300 block of Purdue Street. The incident occurred between 3:30 PM and 4:40 PM. 


JULY 21

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE

The window of a parked vehicle in the 8400 block of Turtle Creek was busted out by an unknown person. The unknown suspect took the victim's purse which contained a wallet, credit cards, and an ID. 

24/HR PARKING VIOLATION IMPOUND

A vehicle parked in the 3400 block of Mcfarlin Boulevard was towed at approximately 11:37 AM due to a 24-hour city ordinated violation. 


JULY 22

ASSAULT CAUSES BODILY INJURY 

A victim stated that he was assaulted by his friend while driving down the 3400 block of Lovers Lane at approximately 5:00 AM. 

THEFT OF FIREARM 

At approximately 5:15 AM, a victim reported that an unknown person had stolen his handgun from inside his vehicle, which was parked in the 3400 block of Wentwood Drive. 

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE

At approximately 4:45 PM, an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 3600 block of Stanford Avenue in response to a reported vehicle burglary. The victim stated that an unknown suspect had forced entry into his vehicle and take the third-row seats without consent. 


JULY 23

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

A victim stated that two black males entered a store in the 6200 block of Hillcrest Avenue at approximately 6:05 AM and stole cigarettes.
