FEBRURARY 12

Criminal Trespassing in Habitation
A 42-year-old resident, who lives in the 4600 block of Southern Avenue, reported that her doorbell rang at 10:37 a.m., so she opened the door, which set off the home’s alarm, to find a man standing on the porch with a plant. When the resident turned to shut off the alarm, the man entered her home and locked the door then tried to hand her an envelope, which he told her to open. The resident then told the man to leave her home, but he grabbed her arm, pulled her toward him and kissed her on the cheek. Afterward, the resident was able to forcefully push the man out of her house and contact the police. The man left the area.

The resident said she encountered this man about six weeks before when she was driving to work, and he was standing next to a white van outside of her neighbor’s residence; at the time, the man signaled for her to pull over, and then he proceeded to lean into her car and repeatedly say, “I love you.” The resident assumed he was part of a yard crew working in the neighborhood.
