DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICE

A 28-year-old resident reported that he had been approached by two unknown suspects as part of an auto repair scam on Feb. 2 in the 2800 block of Lovers Lane.

DUTY ON STRIKING FIXTURE

An unknown vehicle damaged city property and fled the scene in the 3100 block of Stanford Avenue.

FRAUDULENT USE/POSSESSION OF IDENTIFYING INFORMATION

A 34-year-old resident in the 3800 block of University Boulevard reported that an unknown suspect used his information to open a Verizon account.

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE

A 39-year-old resident reported that an unknown suspect stole a firearm and a checkbook from his vehicle between 7:45 p.m. and 9:03 p.m. in the 4300 block of Purdue Street.

 

FEB. 5

EXPLOITATION OF ELDERLY

A 94-year-old resident in the 3400 block of Stanford Avenue reported that an unknown suspect called on Feb. 4 to alert her that her computer had been hacked and they could resolve the issue. The suspect was granted access to the computer before the victim realized it was a scam.

 

FEB. 6

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE

A 45-year-old resident reported that an unknown suspect entered his vehicle and stole his computer bag between 7 p.m. on Feb. 5 and 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 6 in the 4200 block of San Carlos Drive.

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE

A 47-year-old Dallas resident reported that an unknown suspect entered his vehicle and stole his laptop between 7 p.m. on Feb. 5 and 12 p.m. on Feb. 6 in the 3500 block of Bryn Mawr Drive.

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE

A 53-year-old resident reported that an unknown suspect entered her vehicle and rifled through the contents of the vehicle in an attempt to steal property sometime between Feb. 3 and Feb. 6 in the 3900 block of Bryn Mawr Drive.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT CAUSING SERIOUS BODILY INJURY

A resident reported assault causing bodily injury at 6 p.m. on Stanford Avenue. A suspect was arrested.

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE 

A 67-year-old resident reported that an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle and stole a laptop between 8 p.m. on Feb. 5 and 11 a.m. on Feb. 6 in the 3400 block of Hanover Street.

CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL BY MINOR

Officers were dispatched to a loud party involving juveniles at 10:24 p.m. in the 4000 block of Hanover Street. Citations were issued to minors who had consumed alcohol and juveniles were released to their parents or guardians.

 

FEB. 7

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE

A 44-year-old resident reported that an unknown suspect stole the third row seats from his 2012 Chevrolet Suburban overnight in the 3200 block of Rankin Avenue.
