December 5, 2015 - After a rigorous tryout process, the award-winning Highland Belles drill team added 20 new team members to its 2016-2017 roster. The new team was carefully selected after hopefuls and returning Belles committed to a week-long training process, culminating in a tryout last Saturday led by third-party, independent judges from within the drill team community.
Including the new Belles, the 2016-2017 squad will total 62 members plus any additional managers added by the Directors.
The 2016-2017 new Highland Belles will begin their workout and off-season training in January alongside the current Belle team. Their first team performance will be featured in late spring.
For over 32 years, the Highland Belles have been known throughout Highland Park and the dance/drill community for their dedicated work-ethic, technique and precision routines. Dancing under the direction of Mrs. Shannon Phillips, Highland Belle Director, Belle performances include military, jazz, pom, high kick, prop and novelty selections.
