Lady Scots Soccer rolls past JJ Pearce, but falls in close match to Mesquite Horn.
Last Friday January 29th, the Lady Scots hosted Richardson’s JJ Pearce, winning 2-0 behind goal scorers Sarah O’Neal and Rachel Wasserman. Assists by Anna Robertson and Savanna Jones. The Scots defense posted their 5th shutout of the season with varsity newcomers Jillian Deaver, Grace Bass and Halley Ray led by Captain Haley Vice and Goalkeeper Mariya Molina.
The Lady Scots program unbeaten district streak of 15 games came to an end on Tuesday with a tough, hard fought and close 4-3 loss to Mesquite Horn. Natalie Dargene netted her first goal of the year, followed by Sarah O’Neal. Rachel Wasserman extended her goal scoring streak to 4 games with her 7th goal of the season. Captain Savanna Jones had all 3 assists in the game, extending her assist streak to 6 games and an impressive total of 14 early in this season.
The Scots look to bounce back this Friday, February 5th, at Highlander Stadium, hosting Lake Highlands. They play again Tuesday, February 9th vs. Mesquite at Hanby Stadium. Come early to cheer on JV Navy at 5:30, followed by the 7:15 Varsity game as the Lady Scots Soccer compete as “One Team, One Dream.”
