The 2016-2017 Highland Belles Drill Team made its debut Friday introducing those members who joined the team after being chosen in December. Since January they’ve been training for their appearance before the student body, hence the big annual event is known as the “New Girls Dance.”

Although excited, and a little nervous, the new members performed with the returning Belles as they all maintained the high standards of technique, precision and flair that have earned the Belles their award winning tradition.

For the new members of the Belles performing at the enthusiastic student pep rally, it was the first of many steps they’ll take in the years ahead.

Later that afternoon the Highland Belles kicked back and enjoyed their annual Big/Lil Sis party.

The 2016-2017 Service Officers announced the upcoming season’s theme, “Belles of the Ball.”

Of the 63 members of the 2016-2017 Highland Belles, 20 are new members.
