The public is invited to check out the gorgeous backyards of five Highland Park homes during a pool and garden tour next month.

The Park Cities Learning Disabilities Association is hosting its 35th Pool and Garden Tour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 12, which will raise money to benefit children in the community who have learning differences.

The theme of this year’s tour is “Sowing the Seeds,” and attendees will get to enjoy food, wine and music as they stop by each of the homes.

Here is a list of the houses on the tour:

  • Ellen and John McStay — 3628 Beverly Dr.
  • Angela and Artemio De La Vega — 3629 Beverly Dr.
  • Alisha and Joseph Sinacola — 3800 Beverly Dr.
  • Jan Miller-Rich and Jeffrey Rich — 3827 Beverly Dr.
  • Barbara Crow — 3637 Stratford Ave.

Proceeds raised by this biennial event will be put toward college scholarships for high school seniors with learning differences, Highland Park ISD’s EDGE program (academic “booster” classes in the summer), teacher continuing education and more. The PCLDA donated more than $20,000 last year, which benefited those programs and helped fund the new ADA-compliant Bradfield Elementary School playgrounds.

Tickets to the tour cost $25 and can be purchased at Tom Thumb stores in the Park Cities or online at www.pclda.org. Also, tickets will be sold at each of the homes on the tour during the event for $35.
