A player and a coach for Highland Park High School's varsity girls basketball team have received district recognitions for their accomplishments this past season.

Highland Park junior Kaitlyn Read was named District 10-4A Offensive Player of the Year. Also, Lady Scots coach Amy Matlock was named District 10-4A Co-Coach of the Year.

The Lady Scots varsity team finished the season with a 25-8 record and made it four rounds into the playoffs before falling to West Mesquite in the UIL Regional Semifinals.
