For the past 12 years, fourth grade Panthers at UP have considered the challenge of surviving Camp Write Along as a rite of passage in perfecting their writing skills for the State's STAAR Writing Assessment. On March 29, 2016 they will join peers across the district and state in "measuring up!"

Congratulations to UP fourth graders for their thinking, effort, and attention! Way to go Vitale's Vivid Voices, Even's Exemplary Editors, Franco's Fabulous Fours, Alvarez's Peppy Publishers, Golman's Gifted Gurus, Thompson's Totally Awesome Authors and Priamo's Perfect Punctuators for thriving and surviving Camp Write Along 2016! A special shout out to UP's 4th grade teachers for their work in planning and carrying out this novel approach to learning that is designed to "polish" UP's writers!

Many thanks to our fourth grade moms Amy Pollard, Amanda Cejka, Renne Lokey, Jennifer McNeil, Jenny Mattison, Sondra Puorro, Suzanne England, Joanna Brown, Ashley Meece, Natalie Sharpe and others who helped us "cap off" the camp with homemade 'Smores!

A big "WOW-Way to GO!" to our featured CWA writers: Delaney Brassard, Clara Swartzendruber, Peyton Sharpe, Evyn Cramer, David Burns, Cooper Moore and Dylan Pivnick. These students were selected to present their "favorite" pieces to the other campers.

Mile-wide smiles were seen on the faces of boys and girls who earned certificates of recognition for: Precise Planning, Remarkable Revising, Excellent Editing, Tremendous Growth, Outstanding Effort, and Positive Attitudes! Sensational!
