Park Cities Dance was recently visited by Chita Rivera, who is a worldwide entertainer that has won two Tony Awards and performed on Broadway, film, television, recordings and tour throughout her career.

Rivera stopped by the dance and theatre school to visit founder Jacqueline Porter on Feb. 27. Porter is a Park Cities resident whose late fiancé was one of Rivera's partners on Broadway.

While at Park Cities Dance, Rivera told stories of Broadway and her career to about 100 children and adults who were there and even watched some 8- to 10-year-old dancers perform.

"These children — what talent!" Rivera said. "And what training they're receiving. I see it in the arms when they've barely moved."

Rivera was in Dallas last month to host a fundraiser titled the "13th Annual Column Awards," which benefited Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids.
