The hard rock/metal band Drater, which is comprised of three very talented Highland Park Middle School students, will be playing a gig at the House of Blues in Dallas on Feb. 19.

The group will also be playing a couple of shows this month and in January. Here is a list of the band's upcoming concerts:

  • Club Dada at 2 p.m. Dec. 17
  • Dallas Metal Fest at the Curtain Club in Deep Ellum at 10 p.m. Dec. 30
  • Battle of the Bands at The Door in Deep Ellum at 8 p.m. Jan. 27
  • House of Blues on Feb. 19

If you haven't heard about Drater, all I can say is the band reminds me of the movie the School of Rock. These kids know how to rock hard, and they put on a stage show that you will not want to miss.

By the end of this year, the band will have played a total of 21 gigs in 2011. As for now, there is just one thing standing in between the band members and their upcoming concerts — final exams.
