Dallas United Crew competed in the Texas State Rowing Championships in Austin this past weekend and walked away with four state championship titles, including the most prestigious events – the men’s and women’s varsity eights!  We have the fastest boats in Texas, earning gold in:

  • The Men’s Jr. Varsity 8+
  • The Men’s Jr. Varsity 4+
  • The Women’s Jr. Varsity 8+
  • The Men’s Junior Novice 8+ - three years running!

DUC earned third overall in Junior team points, the most for a sweep team and the most for any Junior team in North Texas.

The Texas Rowing Championship is a 1000-meter sprint which takes place on Lady Bird Lake at the Festival Beach Park. It’s the principle regatta that determines the best and fastest high school rowers in the state of Texas.

Congratulations to our other medal winning boats:  Silver Medal Winners:  Varsity Women’s 4+, Varsity Men’s 4+ B Boat.  Bronze Medal Winners:  Men’s Novice 4+.

Director of Dallas United Crew Jonathan Stevens says, “Though we became state champions on Sunday, the journey began months ago-from countless hours on the water in the grueling heat of August through icy workouts in the gym in January. The victories were truly the result of our athletes' hard work and dedication paying off when it mattered most. “

Tulsa Route 66 Sprint Invitational: Dallas United Crew also had strong showings in the Route 66 Tulsa Sprints Invitational Regatta held April 11th and 12th.  Gold Medals – Women’s Novice 4+ A and B Boats; Silver Medals – Women’s JV 8+, Women’s Varsity 4+, Men’s Varsity 4+, Men’s Novice 8+ A and B Boats; and Bronze: Men’s Varsity V8+, Men’s JV 8+, Women’s Novice 8+ and Women’s Lightweight 4+

Rowing Camps for Middle School and High School students are now open for registration for Spring and Summer Rowing.  The High School Travel Team will hold Spring tryouts on May 6th at CrossFit Lake Highlands.
