Striking Unattended Vehicle
A 39-year-old resident of University Park reported that a suspect hit her 2006 Volkswagen Jetta between 9:30 p.m. Dec 11 and 8:40 a.m. Dec. 12 while it was parked in 5000 block of Airline Road, but the suspect did not leave identifying information.

DECEMBER 14

Vehicle Burglary
A 28-year-old resident of Dallas reported that an unknown suspect(s) broke into her 1999 Honda Civic by smashing the driver's side window between 7:45 a.m. and 1:11 p.m. in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue and stole $5 in cash from the back seat. A 21-year-old resident of Mesquite reported that her vehicle, which was parked in the same area, was also broken into during the same time period by an unknown suspect(s) who smashed a passenger's side window and stole a purse, which contained a wallet with her driver's license and a credit card.

Impounded Motor Vehicle
A resident who lives in 4500 block of Abbott Avenue reported that a "suspicious" person knocked on her door around 5 p.m. and "indicated he was soliciting divorce advice." She called the police who arrived on the scene to find a Chevy Astro Van parked in the alley, which was likely owned by the solicitor based on fliers that were located in the front dashboard. The police were unable to find the vehicle's owner after searching for about 45 minutes, so the van was towed because it was parked in a way that prevented emergency or trash collection vehicles from driving through the alley.

Vehicle Burglary
A 26-year-old resident of Dallas reported that a suspect(s) broke into her 2005 BMW by smashing the driver's side rear window between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Dec. 14 in the 5500 block of Preston Road and stole a bag containing a pair of "J" blue jeans valued at $150, a pair of Tom's shoes valued at $60, a Laura Mercier makeup bag with contents valued at a total of $200, and a prescription of birth control valued at $100.

Vehicle Burglary
A 53-year-old resident of Richardson reported that a suspect broke into his 2007 Toyota Tundra by smashing a window between 9 a.m. and 5:23 p.m. in the 5500 block of Preston Road and stole a gym bag containing Remington hunting gear valued at $500.

Vehicle Burglary
A 46-year-old resident reported than unknown suspect(s) broke into his unsecured 2011 Ford truck between 10 a.m. Dec. 13 and 7 p.m. Dec. 14 while it was parked in the driveway of his home in the 3500 block of Beverly Drive and stole guns and a briefcase containing an Apple iPad.

DECEMBER 15

Damage to Private Property
A 49-year-old resident reported that a car drove though his front yard at 9:43 p.m. in the 4200 block of Lakeside Drive in an attempt to avoid traffic caused by a car accident, creating "two ruts in his yard" that were about 25 feet in length.

Damage to Town Property
A 28-year-old resident of University Park reported that a suspect struck an electric pole marked with a sign stating "Property of The Town of Highland Park" in a Land Rover Range Rover at 10:12 p.m. in the 5500 block of Fairfield Avenue and fled without leaving information at the scene.

DECEMBER 16

Lost Property
A 56-year-old resident, who lives in the 4300 block of Belclaire Avenue, reported that a diamond ring valued at $3,680.50 that she gave her daughter was missing, and her daughter last saw it on a ring stand in her upstairs bathroom on Dec. 1, and housekeepers and family friends have been in the house during time it has gone missing.

Home Burglary
A 45-year-old resident of Fort Worth reported that $1,300 worth of copper pipe was stolen between Oct. 7 and Dec. 16 from a home under construction in the 4300 block of Bordeaux Avenue.

DECEMBER 17

Suspicious Person
The HP police department received a phone call at about 12:25 p.m. about a suspicious person with a sleeping bag and backpack at the bridge at Armstrong Avenue and Lakeside Drive. Upon arriving at the scene, the police learned that the suspect was a 49-year-old homeless male who was trying to get to "The Bridge" shelter in downtown Dallas. After checking his record for warrants, the police gave the man a ride to a location closer to his destination.

DECEMBER 18

Theft
A 71-year-old resident reported that an unknown suspect(s) stole "four center wheel caps and ten lug nuts from his 2007 Cadillac Escalade" between 8:30 a.m. Dec. 16 and noon Dec. 17 while his vehicle was parked in the driveway of his home in the 4200 block of Beverly Drive.
