HP POLICE BLOTTER: May 29 - June 4

MAY 29

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE 

At approximately 2:02 PM, police responded to a reported burglary in the 3700 block of Potomac Avenue. The male victim reported that he parked his vehicle outside of his residence on May 27 at 12:00 PM, and when he returned to it at 12:00 PM on May 29, multiple items were missing.

PUBLIC INTOXICATION/INTOXICATION OF A MINOR

Police responded to reports of a large party in the 4300 block of Belclaire Avenue at approximately 9:33 PM. They encountered a very drunk teenage boy walking home and being helped by three other teen girls. The boy lied about various answers to the police's questions. The host of the party was also questioned. 


MAY 30


IDENTITY THEFT 

At approximately 10:42 AM, police responded to a report of credit/debit card abuse in the 4300 block of Potomac Avenue. The female victim stated that she received her credit card bill and noticed charges that neither she nor her husband had made. 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

At approximately 4:20 PM, police responded to reports of mischief in the 4500 block of Versailles Avenue. Upon arrival, police found that an unknown subject had stabbed the gas tank of a woman's car with a knife, causing intentional damage. The father of the victim informed police that they were unsure when the damage had occurred, and neither person had any idea who would do such a thing.  

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

At approximately 4:40 PM, police responded to a report of shoplifting at the Whole Foods Market in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive. The store manager advised police that she witnessed an Asian female (who was later identified) unlawfully appropriating food items and leaving without paying. The manager confronted and detained the woman until police arrived. 


MAY 31

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

At approximately 8:06 PM, police responded to a reported theft in the 3500 block of Normandy Avenue. The victim stated that between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, an unknown person had entered the common garage of the apartment complex and removed the victim's bicycle without permission. 


JUNE 2

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

At approximately 10:21 AM, police responded to a reported theft at the Whole Foods store in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive. Store security informed police that they had detained a subject after observing him leaving with merchandise he had not paid for. 

DAMAGE TO TOWN PROPERTY 

At approximately 4:50 PM, police responded to a reported accident in the 4200 block of Versailles Avenue. Upon arrival, police saw a vehicle parked on a front lawn and found the driver disoriented in the back seat. The driver could not remember being involved in an accident and was taken to the hospital. A witness stated that the vehicle was heading south down the 4900 block of Preston Road when it swerved and drove through the grass, then hit a tree.
