HP POLICE BLOTTER: May 22 - 28

MAY 23

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

At approximately 5:00 PM, police were dispatched to the 5400 block of South Versailles in response to a report of theft. A man stated that unknown person took two copper downspouts that were attached to his house between 5:00 PM on May 21 and 5:00 PM on May 23.
 

MAY 24

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE 

At approximately 12:40 PM, police responded to a reported vehicle burglary in the 3500 block of Potomac Avenue. A woman stated that between 3:30 on May 23 and 8:30 AM on May 24, an unknown subject entered her vehicle and stole $800 worth of property. 

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

At approximately 1:30 PM, police were dispatched to the Highland Park Lobby in response to a reported theft. A woman stated that she had placed her $14,000 wedding ring in a bank's safety deposit box while she was on vacation, and when she returned to retrieve the ring, it had been removed without her consent. 

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE 

At approximately 5:09 PM, police responded to a vehicle burglary in the 3600 block of Potomac Avenue. The victim stated that she had parked her vehicle in her driveway overnight and an unknown suspect had stolen $180 worth of property between 8:10 PM and 9:00 AM. 

DAMAGE TO TOWN PROPERTY 

At approximately 6:45 PM, police were dispatched to the 4600 block of Roland Avenue in response to reported damage to a street sign. Police found the sign on the ground with tire marks on the corner of the sign and street. 


MAY 27

DAMAGE TO TOWN PROPERTY 

At approximately 6:47 AM, police responded to an accident at the intersection of Mockingbird Lane and the Dallas North Tollway. A vehicle had struck the traffic control device pole, which was damaged. Someone reported witnessing a car that might have been the victim's moving at high speeds and running red lights before the accident occurred. 

DAMAGE TO PRIVATE PROPERTY 

At approximately 7:30 AM, police were dispatched to investigate reported damage to town property in the 4700 block of Drexel Drive. A black and yellow exhaust hose was damaged and no longer usable at the Highland Park Department of Public Safety. 

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE

At approximately 2:00 PM on May 29, police responded to a theft that occurred on May 27 in the 3700 block of Potomac Avenue. The victim reported that his vehicle had been parked outside of his residence when several items were stolen. There were no signs of forced entry. 


MAY 28 

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

At approximately 2:00 PM, police were dispatched to the 4700 block of Abbott Avenue in response to the theft of two bicycles. The victim stated that he and his family were moving into an apartment and the bikes had been locked to a rack in the complex. He discovered that the bikes had been removed without permission and the chains had been cut.
