DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

At approximately 8:40 PM, police responded to a vehicle crash and found a man with minor injuries in the 4900 block of Abbott Avenue. Two red oak trees nearby had suffered damage and had chunks of bark missing. Just north of the trees, police found a Honda van with significant front end and front passenger side damage, as well as damage to the windshield, front tires, and axle. Man with injuries found near the scene claimed not to know what happened and was taken to Presbyterian Dallas ER.

IDENTITY THEFT

An HP male resident reported that Home Depot’s fraud department contacted him about a purchase he never made. The person who attempted to make the purchase knew the victim’s social security number, driver’s license number, name, address, and phone number. The unknown suspect attempted to use the victim’s credit card and information at two different Home Depots, one in Wylie and one in Plano.

THEFT OF PROPERTY

An HP female resident reported that the front license plate was stolen off her vehicle. She had recently been involved in a fender bender with the vehicle at the Target located at Haskell and I-75. It seems that the license plate was stolen before she took the vehicle into a collision center for repairs. She realized the plate was missing when picking the car up from the shop. She believes it may have been stolen while her car was parked at her apartment complex in the block of 4500 Abbott Avenue.

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE

A male HP resident reported that an unknown suspect had broken into his vehicle’s driver window and stolen cash and an electronic device. The break-in occurred sometime between 9:15 AM and 10:50 AM in the 4300 block of Arcady Avenue after the victim withdrew cash from the Chase Bank off of Lemmon Avenue in Dallas.

IMPOUNDED ANIMALS

At approximately 12:00 PM, a woman who stated that she was a veterinarian called the police to report that her friend had been caring for a litter of feral cats. The veterinarian was concerned that the cats were presenting neurological deficits that could indicate rabies. Her friend was bitten by one of the cats, and the veterinarian was concerned for her friend’s health. Animal control was notified of the incident and the cats were secured at an animal clinic. The cats were to undergo immediate emergency testing for rabies.

BURGLARY OF BUILDING

At approximately 8:23 PM, a female HP resident reported that someone had entered her unlocked storage unit behind her residence on the 4500 block of Versailles Avenue. The unknown suspect removed a western saddle without permission. The woman would not remember exactly when she had last seen the saddle, but she estimated that it was about one month ago. She suspected that workers who had been around the area might have been involved, but there were no witnesses.
