With the help of parents and our Dallas Master Gardeners, UP students have recently harvested over 100 pounds of vegetables consisting of carrots, beets, swiss chard, basil, bush beans, spinach and broccoli for donation to Our Community Pantry, a partner of the North Texas Food Bank.
On two different trips, students sorted and weighed the vegetables that were put out immediately for the clients at Our Community Pantry. It was a great way for students to experience the concept of giving up close and see how they are positively impacting the community they live in this holiday season by helping fight hunger.
