HPISD Administrative Personnel Update: New Assistant Superintendents Hired

Highland Park ISD has announced the hiring of two new Assistant Superintendents. Lisa Wilson will serve as the head of the Education Services Department, and Dr. Brent Ringo will lead the Business & Finance Department. Read below for more information on Wilson and Ringo.

 

Lisa Wilson named new Assistant Superintendent for Education Services

Lisa Wilson has been selected to serve as Highland Park ISD's new Assistant Superintendent for Education Services. Wilson will succeed Gena Gardiner who announced her retirement earlier this year.

Wilson has 27 years of experience as a school administrator and teacher. She most recently served as the Director of Assessment and Research in the Blue Valley School District in Overland Park, Kansas. She has also served as an Associate Principal for Curriculum and Instruction, a Lead District Coordinating Teacher, and an English and Communication Arts Teacher, all for Blue Valley.

"Highland Park ISD is known throughout the nation as an exemplary leader in K-12 education, and I am so pleased to join this outstanding school district," Wilson said. "I am looking forward to working with an incredible group of faculty and staff and helping the students of Highland Park ISD succeed."

Wilson has been a member of several educational organizations, including the Board of Directors for the National Board for Certified Teachers of Kansas, the Kansas Advanced Placement Council, and the Kansas Assessment Advisory Council.

"Lisa Wilson is a dedicated educator, and I am excited to welcome her to Highland Park ISD," Superintendent Dr. Tom Trigg said. "She brings a wealth of knowledge to the district, and her passion for taking every student's academic needs to heart is one of her top qualities."

Wilson earned her bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and her Master of Education from MidAmerica Nazarene University. 

Wilson will be relocating to the Dallas area soon, and she will begin her transition to Highland Park ISD on Jan. 23. Wilson and her husband, Matt, have two children - son Hayden is a 2015 graduate of the School of Engineering at Kansas State University and a software developer, and daughter Tori is a freshman at Emporia State University studying to become a math teacher.  

 

Dr. Brent Ringo named new Assistant Superintendent for Business & Finance

Dr. Brent Ringo was named the new Assistant Superintendent for Business & Finance at the Jan. 10 School Board meeting. Dr. Ringo will direct and manage the operation of all financial and business affairs of HPISD including accounting, payroll, purchasing, risk management, food services and facility services.

Dr. Ringo comes to HPISD from Allen ISD, where he served as the Executive Director of Finance. He also has campus administrative and classroom experience - he was the Principal of Royse City High School from 2012-14, an Associate Principal at Wylie High School, and an algebra and geometry teacher and a coach in Garland and Leander ISDs.

"I am excited to join a district like Highland Park ISD that is known for excellence in everything it does," Dr. Ringo said. "I am eager to begin working with Superintendent Dr. Trigg, the HPISD School Board, and the community to continue to ensure the financial stewardship and transparency that HPISD is known for."

While in Allen, Dr. Ringo's department was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States.

"I am so pleased to welcome Dr. Brent Ringo to the Highland Park ISD administrative team," Superintendent Dr. Tom Trigg said. "Dr. Ringo is a strong financial manager and a collaborative leader, and his financial acumen will be a great asset for HPISD."

Dr. Ringo earned his Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from Texas A&M - Commerce, his Master of Education from Texas State University, and he attended The United States Military Academy at West Point and the University of Texas at Austin for his undergraduate studies.

Dr. Ringo is expected to join HPISD on Feb. 1. He and his wife, Kristin, live in Rockwall with their two young sons Brody and Kyle.
