HIGHLAND PARK LIBRARY KICKS OFF 2012 SUMMER READING PROGRAM

A large and enthusiastic crowd attended the kickoff of Highland Park Library’s 2012 “Get a Clue…at the Library” summer reading program in Prather Park on Friday, June 1.  Children solved a series of mini-mysteries by using their senses of touch, smell and sight, collecting clue pieces along the way.  When the young detectives collected all the clues they were able to ‘crack the code’ and claim their reward at the snack table. Beautiful weather, a large group of capable teen volunteers and a record number of enthusiastic readers and their families helped make the event a success. Those unable to attend the event may still register 9:30-5:30 Tuesday through Thursday at the Library, located in the Town Hall at 4700 Drexel Drive. For information on upcoming summer programs or our ongoing weekly storytimes, call the Library at 214.559.9400 or click on the Calendar tab at www.hplibrary.info.
