Billy Reid Shop Maren Morris and Sam Robertson will be performing at The Southern Social concert series event this weekend at Highland Park Village.

Highland Park Village shoppers may notice a crowd enjoying food, drinks and live music outside of the Billy Reid store in the shopping center this weekend.

North Texas musicians Maren Morris and Sam Robertson are having free outdoor performances to raise money to benefit The Rise School of Dallas, beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Billy Reid shop, as part of The Southern Social concert series, which will also include food by a Dallas restaurateur and drinks.

"The Southern Social is a series of free concerts meant to promote local music, good food, and help raise money for people doing some good in the world," according to the event's website.

Though the concert is free, money raised at the event will benefit The Rise School of Dallas, which is a nonprofit organization that provides educational services to children who have developmental disabilities, such as Down syndrome, and children without disabilities.

Maren Morris, one of the musical acts who will be performing, is a singer-songwriter whose music transcends folk rock, country and indie. The other musician, Sam Robertson, performs folk-pop songs on acoustic guitar, often accompanied by keys and a violin.

Celebrity chef Lisa Garza's latest concept, Sissy's Southern Kitchen & Bar, will be offering southern cuisine, and drinks will be provided by Basil Hayden's and Maker's 46.

This weekend will be the third of the The Southern Social concert series events.
