There are concerns that present-day society's "achievement culture" is putting too much pressure on children.

Highland Park United Methodist Church will be addressing the issue by screening the film "Race to Nowhere," which is a documentary about how the pressure that is put on kids by America's current education system is impacting their lives, at 6 p.m. Jan. 8 in Wesley Hall.

In addition to the movie screening, there will be a panel discussion to further analyze the topic. The panel members are Richard Bohac, Cathie Looney, Dan Myers, Tova Sido and Candace Winslow.

Childcare will be provided at the event, but space is limited, so be sure to reserve a spot early by emailing kidcare@hpumc.org.
