University Park residents can get their Christmas trees picked up from their curbs and recycled for free through next Friday.
The city's Sanitation Division will be collecting trees that are left on the curb from residences located south of Lovers Lane through Jan. 12 and north of the street through Jan. 13, according to the city of UP website. Residents will have to pay $10 to get their trees picked up anytime after that.
The trees' stands and all of their decorations, including "ornaments, lights, tinsel and plastic," must be removed beforehand in order for the trees to be collected.
So, be sure to pack up your tree's decorations and haul it out to the curb soon to avoid getting slapped with collection fee when you get rid of it.
