Fans of the Highland Park High School boys basketball program are invited to attend a fundraiser event later this month, which will benefit all of the boys teams.

The sixth annual Hoops & Hot Sauce Fundraiser, which is the boys basketball program's only fundraiser of the school year, will be hosted from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 20 in the Highland Park High School Cafetorium.

This year's fundraiser theme is "Gone Swishin'" to celebrate the program's winning tradition, according to a news release about the event. At the fundraiser, dinner will be served by Catina Laredo, which will include enchiladas and tacos.

In addition to dinner, there will also be an auction at the fundraiser event. Money raised will help fund video production and live streaming broadcasts of games, the annual Meet The Scots program and the Scot Classic Tournament.

"We hope to see a large community turn out on January 20 to support the Highland Park men's basketball program," said Cathy Fletcher, the fundraiser's event chair, according to the news release.

Tickets to the event cost $10 a piece and can be purchased now from Highland Park basketball players.

Attendees are also encouraged to stay at the school after the fundraiser ends and watch the boys varsity basketball team take on Wylie East and a special halftime performance by the Highland Belles at 7:30 p.m. in the HPHS main gym. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket window outside of the gym and cost $2 for students and $4 for adults.

"We promise good fun, great food and a terrific game for the entire family," Fletcher said.
