University Park and Highland Park host Park Cities recycling event on October 3

Clear your garage and attic, and get ready for fall.  The next Park Cities recycling event is set for Saturday, October 3 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Collection will take place, free of charge, at the Middle/Intermediate School parking lot.  This is a joint effort involving the City and Town, and residents from either community can participate.    

Paper Products

Many paper products/documents can be disposed of including: 

Medical records - legal files - tax records - financial records - invoices - canceled checks - blueprints - contracts - payroll records - junk mail containing personal information - any information that contains credit card, social security, driver license and account numbers.

E-Waste

Accepted E-waste items include: TVs - radios/stereos - printers - game consoles - fax machines - fans - VCR’s/DVD/CD players - computers/laptops - computer monitors - computer speakers - keyboards - mice - external hard drives - power supplies - scanners - camera and video equipment - cell phones and more.  

  • Shred-it will collect and shred all documents on-site.
  • ECS Refining will collect and dispose of all e-waste items. The company is one of the top electronics processors in the country, with 35 years of industry experience. 

Household Items & Clothing

Goodwill Industries will also be on-site. Household itemsmust be in working condition, and contain all parts and accessories.  Clothing items must not be torn or stained. All donors will be given a receipt for tax deduction purposes.
