APRIL 24

Identity Theft
A 42-year-old resident, who lives in the 4600 block of Livingston Avenue, reported that someone filed a tax return using his social security number.

APRIL 25

Theft
A 53-year-old resident of Dallas reported that an unknown person approached her from behind in an alley and stole her iPhone, which was clipped to her back, and then the unknown person ran to a vehicle and got away around 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Byron Avenue and Beverly Drive.

Fled Without Leaving Identification
A 25-year-old resident of Dallas reported that her vehicle was struck by a Volkswagen Beetle at 2:12 p.m. at the intersection of Wycliff Avenue and Oak Lawn Avenue. The victim pulled into the Chase Bank parking lot but she lost sight of the Volkswagen Beetle when it pulled into an unknown parking lot south on Oak Lawn Avenue.

Theft
A 34-year-old resident reported that an unknown person stole a bag made of recycled tires that contained about 50 tubes of oil paint and four brushes, which was left by the curb of her driveway, between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. in 3900 block of Normandy Avenue.

Identity Theft
A 40-year-old resident, who lives in the 4400 block of Fairfax Avenue, reported that someone used his name, date of birth and social security number to open three "business merchant accounts" at banks.

APRIL 26

Vehicle Burglary
A 53-year-old resident of Dallas reported that his DeWalt miter saw was stolen from the bed of his truck around 11 a.m. in the 3800 block of Miramar Avenue.

Theft
The business owner of the United Parcel Service store in the 4800 block of Lemmon Avenue reported that a suspect placed an order to make 4,000 copies of a book and paid $1,282 up front. The suspect collected the completed job, tried to pay the remaining $2,472.69 balance with two declined credit cards and left the store with the product and without paying the remaining balance.

Theft
A 40-year-old resident reported that someone cut three locking cables, which secured his $6,000 bicycle to a pole, and stole the bicycle between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of Holland Avenue.

APRIL 27

Found Property
A 14-year-old resident reported that he found a silver Apple iPod with white headphones and a heart-shaped sticker on the back at 8:33 p.m. in Versailles Park.

APRIL 28

Found Property
An off-duty officer who was working at Highland Park Shopping Village witnessed a person throw two gray side mirrors to a Mercedes out of his Cadillac Escalade at 2:50 a.m. in the 5100 block of Preston Road.

Impounded Motor Vehicle
A resident who lives in the 5300 block of Roland Avenue reported that a vehicle with a blown out tire was blocking her driveway, so it was impounded at 8:54 a.m.

Theft
A 58-year-old resident of Highland Park reported that the two outside rear-view mirrors were stolen off his wife's silver 2008 Mercedes between 10 p.m. on April 27 and 10:20 a.m. on April 28 in the 4300 block of Beverly Drive.

Criminal Trespassing
A 60-year-old of Highland Park reported that an unknown person entered a bathroom in the detached garage of his house and left a cellphone, pair of Sketchers shoes and a cigarette lighter between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. in the 4200 block of Edmondson Avenue.

APRIL 29

Damage to Town Property
A 43-year-old resident of Highland Park reported that teenage boys opened one-gallon paint buckets and threw paint throughout an alley at 5:29 p.m. in the 3400 block of Mockingbird Lane.
