Yesterday, supporters of the Arthritis Foundation, along with members of the Dallas business community and local golf enthusiasts joined the 27th Annual Swing Against Arthritis Golf Tournament, at the beautiful Dallas Athletic Club, 4111 La Prada, Mesquite, TX. This charity event was presented by Community Trust Bank, with proceeds benefiting the work of the Arthritis Foundation. The Golf Tournament Chair is Dale Duboskas.

The purpose of the 2012 Swing Against Arthritis Golf Tournament was to generate awareness about the seriousness of the disease, as well as raise funds to support mission-driven programs. The event's proceeds will help fund research to find a cure, provide public health/educational programs for those who have this disease and continue the Foundation's advocacy efforts. Last year, the tournament raised more than $100,000 for the Foundation's local programs and community outreach services.

The 2012 Arthritis Foundation and the Swing Against Arthritis Golf Tournament celebrated medical and technological victories in the area of total joint replacement and arthritis research.

More than 725,000 total joint replacements are performed each year. Remarkable strides are being made every day in the treatment of arthritis, and the 2012 Swing Against Arthritis Golf Tournament celebrates those individuals with total joint replacements and their winning battle against this disease.

This year's tournament was a foursome scramble and included a post-tournament banquet, hosted by Mike Doocy, KDFW-TV FOX 4 Sports Anchor.
