Fort Worth Can Academies recently hosted its annual Fort Worth Can Cares for Kids Golf Classic at Mira Vista Country Club. The Tournament benefited the students who attend the two Fort Worth dropout recovery campuses. The annual fundraiser offered businesses and community members a chance to enjoy 18-holes of golf while also contributing to a non-profit organization that is changing lives everyday by providing the education and support needed to help their students graduate from high school. Sponsors included Platinum Sponsor, Extreme Networks/Solid IT Networks, and Silver Sponsor, Texas Mutual,Insurance. Texas Mutual Insurance also donated a car to Texans Can Cars for Kids to be auctioned at their weekly fundraising operation. “The Fort Worth Can Golf Classic is an important fundraising effort for our two Fort Worth Can Academies,” said Richard Marquez, president and CEO of Texans Can Academies. “We are thrilled that our tournament has become an event to look forward to and honored and humbled by the commitment of support to our students from our sponsors and players.” Fort Worth Can believes providing a strong education to graduate thinkers is the foundation for breaking the cycle of generational poverty and illiteracy. Through its parent organization, Texans Can Academies, more than 130,000 students have been given a second chance at life with the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
