The University Park Planning and Zoning Commission will be continuing its public hearing about the proposed Park Cities YMCA expansion project at 5 p.m. on Tuesday in the City Hall Council Chamber.

The first hearing about the project, which was held on April 10, lasted for about three hours. At the hearing, local residents voiced their opinions in support and against the proposed expansion.

The Park Cities YMCA is looking to increase the size of its facilities from 30,000 square feet to a proposed size of about 65,000 square feet. The project has been met with opposition by some University Park residents who say the proposed size is too big and would cause traffic and parking issues in the area to increase.
