On October 1st, several UP teachers set out to show #UP Cares by volunteering with the North Texas Food Bank. Not only does volunteering make for a fun Saturday afternoon, but it also helps people, including children and seniors, who suffer from food insecurity right here in our own DFW community. During their shift, the teachers were able to pack 8 pallets, 240 boxes, 10,800 pounds, and provide the equivalent of 9,000 meals. This is third volunteer opportunity this group has fulfilled at the food bank and they hope to make this a regular event and grow their volunteer team.

Great work Leigh Ann Mewhirter (1st), Barb Savage (1st), Andrea Crane (PE), Joy Rumsey (Kinder), Mallory Hernandez (SPED), Jennifer Torres (Art), and former UP TAG teacher Pamela Villanueva.
