The room was buzzing with energy and laughter under the spectacular chandeliers that illuminated Scott + Cooner Showroom. The No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party’s kick-off event, benefiting AIDS Services of Dallas, revealed exciting details about its upcoming gala on April 8, 2017. The much-anticipated event celebrates ASD’s mission and journey over the last 25+ years to improve the lives of economically disadvantaged individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS.

The 12th Annual No Tie Dinner and Dessert Party, presented by the Purple Foundation, will be celebrating life through art with the 2017 theme, An Artful Life, inspired by the pop art movement and such artists as Andy Warhol (who came alive at the reception thanks to Cameron Ciel)and Roy Lichtenstein. The theme was not the only big announcement; this year’s impressive chair committee includes Honorary Co-Chairs Tricia Sims and Dr. Alan Berg and the return of No Tie Chair David Nelson, who has served in the Chair role for the last seven years and has helped raise over $1M for HIV/AIDS care.

The kick-off reception was held on North Texas Giving Day (Sept. 22) and raised over $18,000, only supporting David’s “lucky seven” year will be prosperous and strong. Guests rejoiced while enjoying scrumptious hors d’oeuvres from Hattie’s, cocktails, and tunes by DJ Mr. Rid (Mark Ridlen).

Additional attendees included: ASD President and CEO Don Maison and Chairman of the Board Don Neubauer; Purple Foundation’s Chris Huffstrutter and Dylan Orrell; No Tie’s Publicity Chair Susan Friedman, Entertainment Chairs Rob and Deanna Cahill, Event Director Kristi Holman, and Art Auction Chair Christina Yielding; Dallas personality Steve Kemble and partner Chad Collom, and fitness guru Carla Ferrer, among others.

The No Tie Dinner and Dessert Party, AIDS Services of Dallas’s largest fundraiser, begins with a dinner hosted at various homes throughout DFW. An expected 1,500+ attendees then unite for a magical evening of dancing, live and silent auctions, cocktails and delightful desserts donated by some of Dallas’s finest caterers. The 2017 No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party, presented by The Purple Foundation, will be held on Saturday, April 8, starting at 7:00 p.m., at the Frontiers of Flight Museum (6911 Lemmon Avenue, Dallas, TX, 75209).
