Rotary Club of the Park Cities Presents 2011 Fourth of July Parade

Rotary Club of the Park Cities

Presents 2011 Fourth of July Parade

It’s arguably the largest single-day event in the Park Cities and the one with the most community involvement. The annual Fourth of July parade will take place on Monday, July 4th, with an expected crowd of 10,000 people watching.

Starting from Euclid Avenue near the Highland Park Town Hall, participants will line up at 7:30 am. The parade will begin at 9:00 a.m., ending at Goar Park where it will culminate in a family festival featuring music, food booths and plenty of entertainment for children of all ages. The festival starts around 9:30 a.m. and there is no admission charge.

For the eighth year, the parade will be overseen and operated by volunteers of the Rotary Club of the Park Cities, but the vibrancy and uniqueness comes from the parade entries, consisting of individuals, groups and organizations that enter floats, antique cars and bicycles. It’s not too early to start preparing your parade entry; just remember, no noisemakers or fireworks are permitted.

“We’re looking for anything that represents Texas, America, family and freedom,” says Rotary Club Parade Committee Chairman Cleve Clinton. “But the main goal is that is it should be fun.”
