Flag to Fly Over U.S. Capitol in Honor of H.P. Eagle Scout

On Monday, May 9, a U.S. flag will fly over the United States Capitol in recognition of Highland Park resident Sam Dalton, Jr. attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.  Dalton, 16, is a sophomore at Highland Park High School, and a member of Troop 82 at Highland Park Presbyterian Church.  He is the son of Carol and Sam Dalton.  For his Eagle Scout project, Dalton spent over 250 hours building a granite walking path and planting several trees at the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, a home away from home for the families of seriously ill children.   Sam Jr. is the 14th member of the Dalton family to attain the rank of Eagle, starting with his grandfather, and including every male family member for three generations.  The office of Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison is arranging for the flag to be flown in Dalton’s honor.
