Spring is always the start of the HP Tennis UIL 4A Tennis Individual season. Players compete in one of the five individual events offered during the spring season: boys’ singles, girls’ singles, boys’ doubles, girl’s doubles and mixed doubles. A player may only compete in one event. Last spring, HP Tennis won four of the five events at the UIL 4A State Tennis Individual Championships, a State and HP record, and is hoping to repeat this year.  

Last Friday, March 21, HP Tennis competed in the Frisco Centennial Invitational. High schools competing at the event included Frisco Liberty, Frisco Centennial, Frisco Wakeland, Arlington Heights, McKinney North, Richardson J.J. Pearce, and Plano West. Of the five events, HP won three and placed in two. 

Boys Singles:  Captain Hunter Holman, heading to Texas Tech Tennis next year, won the Boys Singles event. 

Girls Singles:  Sophomore Chandler Carter won the Girls Singles event. 

Boys Doubles:  Sophomores Harrison Buford and Gardiner Perotti finished 3^rd place in Boys Doubles.

Girls Doubles:  Sophomore Elizabeth Porter and Junior Margo Taylor won the Girls Doubles event.

Mixed Doubles: Junior Mac McCullough and Freshman Elizabeth Tedford finished 2^nd place and Sophomore Charlie Legg and Freshman Logan Lett finished 4^th place in the Mixed Doubles event.

• UIL Regional Tournament: Monday, April 14 & Tuesday, April 15 (all day/both days) at UTA Tennis Courts University of Texas at Arlington
• UIL State Tennis Individual Championships: Monday, April 28 & Tuesday, April 29 (all day/both days) at Penick-Allison Tennis Center University of Texas at Austin
