While the Park Cities builds the new YMCA facility on Preston Road, Dallas businessman Albert Huddleston has offered the vacant Chase Bank building as a temporary solution.
Located on Hillcrest Avenue, the Chase building is in a prime location in the Park Cities. However, there's a catch to Huddleston's offer. Scott Brown of the Dallas Morning News reports: "As part of the deal to temporarily use the buildings for the Park Cities Y, Huddleston is asking that University Park transfer to him ownership of the alleyway that runs between the back of the building and the parking lot that serves the property."
The Park Cities YMCA responded to Huddleston's offer by releasing a statement saying, "Unfortunately, the owner of one of the sites under consideration, the former Chase Bank building in Park Cities, has chosen to reveal sensitive business negotiations prematurely at this time."
The YMCA continues to say it will notify the community of interim plans.
