Win as One: 8 scorers on offense & defense gave up only 3 goals/game

The Scots defeated Coppell in the April 22 District Playoff game to advance to the Super Regional Tournament in Austin this past weekend where the Scots defeated Houston Kinkaid 11-3 on Saturday. On Sunday, facing Austin Westlake, the number one seed from Austin, the Scots waged a defensive battle and won 6-2. These victories qualify Highland Park for the final four at the Texas State Lacrosse Championship Tournament on May 3 and May 4, at Friendswood High School in Houston. The state finalists are: Highland Park, Episcopal School of Dallas, Dallas Jesuit and Houston Woodlands.

In the first state semi-final match on May 3 at 2 p.m., the No. 3 seeded Scots will face the No. 2 seeded Episcopal School of Dallas. Then at 4 p.m. the No. 1 seed from the north district, Dallas Jesuit will face the No. 1 seed from the south district, Houston Woodlands.

The winners of the semi-final games will advance and compete for the state championship on Sunday, May 4 at 1:30 p.m.

The Highland Park lacrosse program has established a formidable reputation in Texas, with the DI varsity teams capturing six state championship titles in 10 years. Highland Park Boys Lacrosse has a robust youth program consisting of almost 500 University Park and Highland Park 1st-8th grade boys participating on 22 Bantam and Youth Teams that feed into the high school program, which consists of Junior Varsity, D2 Varsity and DI Varsity teams.

The Highland Park Youth program also secured victories last weekend, with all seven teams from grades 5/6 and 7/8 qualifying for their respective state championship tournaments. With great player participation and a strong group of coaches and volunteer parents, the Highland Park Lacrosse winning tradition will continue for many years.
