St. John’s presents community service celebrating Advent and anticipating Christmas as St. John's choir, soloists, and a chamber orchestra, lead in music of Praetorius, Distler, Sowerby, and others. Always a highlight of this service is congregational singing of the carols of the season. Arrive at 4.30 for a preservice recital played by "Flute Suite," a quartet playing music of Advent and Christmas. Stay afterwards for a grand reception in the parish hall next door.
