SUMMARY:Bars & Measures by Idris Goodwin
DESCRIPTION:Two brothers\, both musicians. The classical pianist is Christi
an. The jazz bassist is Muslim. When Bilal is accused of being a terrorist
and jailed awaiting trial\, Eric tries to stay connected by pushing aside
his own classical aspirations in order to learn big brother's jazz style.
Separated by prison bars and religious convictions\, the brothers scat an
d be-bop through their shared language of music. As his brother's trial pr
ogresses\, Eric becomes disillusioned and struggles to decide if he believ
es the charges levied against his beloved older brother\, or if false accu
sations make him a beleaguered martyr to a prejudiced\, paranoid nation. \

SUMMARY:Seasoned Conversations
DESCRIPTION:Seasoned Conversations • Truth Series to Educate and Empower Te
xas' Seniors \n Series of Free Educational Seminars Provide Answers to Lat
e-Life Changes   \n Dallas TX: The truth. It's what Dallas residence want
concerning late-in-life changes like reverse mortgages\, 55+ senior livin
g options\, selling a house in today's market\, and preparing to "stay put
" in your own home as you age in place. \n These topics\, along with other
s\, will be presented in the upcoming Seasoned Conversation Truth Series a
s 60-90 minute monthly educational seminars beginning on January 13\, 2022
 \, 10:00 am\, at the Network of Community Ministries\, 1500 International
  Pkwy\, Unit 300\, Richardson\, TX 75081. We invite adults 55+\, caregiver
s\, and their families to attend the free "Seasoned Conversations • Truth
Series" to learn about issues related to homeownership and post-retiremen
t downsizing in the DFW area as they navigate change. \n This series of ca
ndid conversations and expert panel discussions about the unique and often
complex issues facing long-time homeowners is to be moderated by Angela M
cCants\, considered the leading authority on issues related to downsizing\
, late-life relocation\, and (55+) living solutions. As the founder of Dal
las Supreme Relocations and Broker Associate with Dave Perry-Miller Real E
state\, Angela McCants and her business partner\, Steven Oliphant\, have m
ade it their mission to educate and guide consumers and their families on
best practices related to post-retirement living. \n "Seniors and familie
s realize that the market is good right now in Dallas\, Richardson\, Plano
\, and surrounding areas and are preparing to sell current homes and move
into something more manageable\," said McCants. "Many seniors have no ide
a what is available to them\, how much it will cost or the process for mak
ing all the pieces fit together. We want to give them trustworthy informat
ion\, introduce them to trusted local resources\, and answer their questio
ns. Beyond helping with immediate needs\, we intend to give individuals an
d families direction and confidence\, so they feel empowered when they dec
ide it is time to make a change." \n Seasoned Conversations\, Truth Series
\, debuts with "The Truth About Touring Senior Communities" on January 13\
, followed by " The Truth About Trusts\, Wills\, and Guardianships" on Feb
ruary 10\, "The Truth About Downsizing\, Right-sizing\, and Simplifying" o
n March 10\, 2022. Seasoned Conversations will introduce more topics as th
e series gets underway. \n "People don't want to be 'sold' something only
to find out later that there were either strings attached or they didn't
get all the facts. There are myths and rumors that date way back\, and pe
ople deserve to know today's truth before they make a significant life-cha
nging decision. They don't want a sales pitch. They want truthful informat
ion from people they can trust in order to consider their options. That's
exactly what we're sharing in this series of educational expert seminars\
," McCants asserts. \n There is no cost to attend for those age 55+\, thei
r families\, and caregivers. Registration for professionals is $25. Reserv
