Eight people are dead after a car ran into pedestrians waiting at a bus stop outside a shelter for migrants in Brownsville, authorities say.The crash happened on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. across the street from the Bishop Enrique San Pedro Ozanam Center, Brownsville Police Department Lt. Martin Sandoval told KRGV.Ten people injured at the scene were taken to a local hospital to treat injuries ranging from minor to serious. One of them later died, Sandoval told CNN, increasing the death toll from seven to eight late Sunday.Police have detained the driver, a Brownsville resident, who is facing at least one charge of reckless driving and also is being treated for injuries.
