A decade ago, restaurant partners Tatsu Aikawa and Takuya Matsumoto added some barbecue into a bowl of their ramen. The pair had opened Ramen Tatsu-Ya in Austin the year prior, and Aikawa was providing barbecue from a few Lockhart joints for the staff’s family meal.
