There’s something about the little town of Hico, a burg of fewer than two thousand residents in Hamilton County that’s attracting more than its share of appealing indie businesses and discerning visitors. Maybe it’s the two-block stretch of downtown Pecan Street, which is pedestrian-friendly and features a tree-shaded esplanade—a little oasis off the main thoroughfare, itself relatively sleepy.
