In the early seventies, when he was a lanky, long-haired teenager, Greg Abbott was a runner. He was a member of the high school track team in Duncanville, about eleven miles southwest of downtown Dallas, and he was determined to be a winner. As he would do so many times as he moved forward in life, he set a goal and had a plan to achieve it.Early in his freshman year, after his family had moved to town from East Texas, Abbott sought out an accomplished high school runner, Keith Bibb.
