Looking for a family-friendly event this fall? Join Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance for the Harvest Hustle Helping the Homeless 5k run and festival at Fair Park on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 8-11 a.m.

The festival will include circus performances by Lone Star Circus; clown performances; a stilt-walker; music by Phillipalooza; a petting zoo and pumpkin patch with The Gentle Zoo; slime making by Mad Science Dallas; pumpkin carving with BlanketTop Theater; and a puppy kissing booth from Operation Kindness. In addition, more than 10 Dallas-area nonprofits, including The Family Place, Rainbow Days, The Stewpot, The Salvation Army, and others will have interactive booths at the festival where people can learn more about their organizations!

Proceeds from the event will support Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance (MDHA). Our Harvest Hustle Helping the Homeless is dedicated to solving family homelessness as more families become homeless due to foreclosures and job losses. Dallas schools had more than 2500 homeless students in the 2012-2013 school year. Thousands of families across North Texas are living in shelters, cars, motels and other temporary places. A 501(c)(3) organization, MDHA and its 74 partner agencies provide shelter, food, healthcare, daycare, and housing to more than 6,000 homeless individuals and families with children each year.
