DALLAS - Lumedia Musicworks, a Dallas-based nonprofit ensemble known for combining early classical music with modern short films it produces, aims to raise $10,000 during the annual, national Giving Tuesday fundraising campaign Tuesday, Nov. 30. Lumedia's short films have won national and international awards at film festivals and are programmed into weekly broadcasts in local pediatric hospitals.
Lumedia, which launched its fifth season in September, performs early classical music - music composed before 1750 - both in-person and online.
"We've grown tremendously in the past few years and have fans worldwide, but we rely on individual donations," said Julianna Emanski, Lumedia's founder and artistic director. "Most of our online content is free, and any ticket sales cover only a portion of production costs."
Giving Tuesday is held each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. The event encourages people to give back during the holiday season, especially to nonprofits. Lumedia Musicworks graciously accepts donations at this link https://tinyurl.com/LMGivingTuesday.
Lumedia also named its Audience Ambassadors for the 2021-22 season. They are:
