Jack McGrath, Landscape Design ArchitectDear Neighbors,

I want to share some landscaping tips for fall that will not only keep your yard looking beautiful, but prepare it for the coming winter.

Fall Landscaping Tips

  1. To keep your grass looking green plant Ryegrass Seed this month. When the temperatures at night are consistently around 60 degrees you are ready to plant.
  2. Plant your fall plants. Pansies, Kale, Cabbage, Snapdragons, Mums all add beautiful fall color and texture.
  3. Plant trees and shrubs. Trees and shrubs are at their best in the fall and planting them now will allow them time to establish before the summer heat comes.
  4. Purchase ahead by picking up spring flower bulbs for planting in mid-December. From daffodils to tulips, plant these colorful flowers and watch them pop with color when spring comes. Keep them refrigerated for at least 45 days prior to planting.

These tips will keep your garden looking healthy and bright even during the fall season. If you have any questions regarding fall landscaping contact Jack McGrath & Associates.

Sincerely,
Jack McGrath
