On September 16, Recovery Resource Center will present a morning with former LPGA golfer, Laura Baugh. Just recently celebrating her twenty-third year sober, Laura Baugh will share her experiences as a young mother while touring with the LPGA and her struggles with fame and alcoholism. Attendees to the Power of Prevention event will enjoy Laura’s story of recovery via theater-style seating to maintain appropriate social distancing with a takeaway boxed lunch. Virtual tickets are also available for post-show viewing starting September 21 for those who would prefer to watch from home.

The money raised through sponsorships, ticket sales and the silent auction at The Power of Prevention event supports a portion of The Council's operating budget. Your contribution will free up program dollars to provide more direct services including screenings, assessments, and outpatient services for addiction and substance use disorder, counseling for veterans and their families, and prevention education for at-risk children and youth. Tickets start at $100.

In advance of the event, Jan Osborn and Robin Bagwell will host a book club reading from "Out of the Rough: An Intimate Portrait of Laura Baugh and Her Sobering Journey" on September 9 at 4:00 pm through a Facebook Group Page.
