The Dallas Symphony Orchestra League is proud to announce that Diane and Hal Brierley will serve as the Honorary Chairs for the Second Annual Savor the Symphony to be held on Thursday, May 3, at The Ritz-Carlton. Savor the Symphony is an elegant evening with a three-course wine-paired dinner, silent and live auctions, and a private performance featuring the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s Principal Pops Conductor and Grammy Award Winner, Jeff Tyzik, along with guest performers, Soprano Camille Zamora and dancers from Tango Caliente. Kim Hext is the event chair and Mari Epperson is the DSOL President. 

The Brierleys are longtime supporters of the DSO and the Dallas community. They have been donors and subscribers to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra since 1986 and Diane has been a member of the DSOL since 1992. 

“Diane and Hal Brierley are true art enthusiasts,” said event chair Kim Hext. “Their long time support of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra as well as the arts community in Dallas is to be applauded. I am truly honored they are serving as this year’s Honorary Chairs for Savor the Symphony."

Diane Brierley is an active and dedicated community volunteer, with a deep passion for the arts, education and wildlife conservation. She serves on the Executive Committees of Alzheimer's Association of Greater Dallas Chapter, Dallas Opera, Dallas Zoological Society, and is a Life Trustee of the Dallas Theater Center. She volunteers for many other organizations including March of Dimes, Shakespeare Dallas, the SPCA, and TACA. Diane has been the recipient of numerous awards, including TACA’s Silver Cup Award for the Arts with Dr. Kern Wildenthal in 2004; Dallas Historical Society’s award for philanthropy; and the Dallas Chapter of National Society of Fund Raisers’ Outstanding Philanthropist. 

Hal Brierley is Chairman of Brierley+Partners, Inc., a leading specialist in the design and management of customer loyalty programs, and is Chairman and CEO of e-Rewards, Inc. He began his career in direct marketing more than 30 years ago and continues to be one of the most innovative and respected strategic thinkers in the field. 

Hal is a Lifetime member of the Board of Governors for the Dallas Symphony Association. He served on the Board of Governors from 1991-2000 and the Executive Board from 2000 – 2011 and he was chairman the Executive Board in 2008-2009. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, the Baylor Health Care System Foundation, the Dallas Opera, KERA-TV, the National Forest Foundation, Rees & Associates, TACA, and a member of World Presidents Organization. Hal has been the recipient of numerous awards, including TACA’s Silver Cup Award for the Arts with Tincy Miller in 2009. 

Event Chair Kim Hext has been a long time member of the DSOL and serves on the Board of Directors for TACA and Hope Supply Co. This fall she will be chairing Zoo To Do for the Dallas Zoological Society and last spring served as co-chair for the American Heart Association Cotes du Coeur Gala. Together, she and husband Greg serve on the Parent Leadership Council for SMU.   

Sponsorships for the event are $25,000, $15,000, $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500. Underwriting tickets with Patron benefits are $500 and $350. A limited number of $250 Individual tickets will be available. Additional donations “in honor/memory of” may be made in any amount and will be listed in the Savor the Symphony program. 

Proceeds will benefit the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s service, education and fundraising efforts.
