Patti Flowers received the 2nd  Annual Fashion Notes Designer Award at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League’s  6th Annual Fashion Notes Designer Award Luncheon, Auctions and Style Show on November 4th at The Ritz-Carlton. She worked with her longtime friend and collaborator Venise Stuart who served as the Honorary Chair. The duo are paired for another major event in the coming months. Venise is the President of the Women’s Council of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden and Patti will chair the Mad Hatter’s Tea next April for the organization. 

The event was chaired by Kristin Cordiak and Kim Brannon is the DSOL President. 

Fashion Notes kicked off holiday celebrations with the luncheon and style show highlighting fashion design and the Dallas Symphony community. The morning began with Mystery Notes Reception, a reimagined silent auction, Designer Award presentation, fashion show and luncheon and closed with a live auction.   

Patti Flowers received the 2nd Annual Fashion Notes Designer Award with many friends in attendance including Jan Strimple, Richard Eiseman and Robin Conlon.

Patti is a native Texan who spent her career in the luxury fashion industry. She began designing over 35 years ago. When the exclusive Dallas retailer Stanley Korshak opened its first bridal salon, Flowers was asked to be the in-house designer specializing in bridal, evening, and debutante gowns. Today, Flowers is recognized as one of the premier bridal and fine apparel designers in Texas.

In 2006, Flowers launched the Patti Flowers Design Studio. Since that time, she has dressed many of the most fashionable women in Texas. In early 2012, she expanded to her new studio in the Uptown neighborhood of Dallas and debuted The Studio Collection. Known for her refined approach to design and deep desire to highlight the woman wearing the gown, the Patti Flowers brand is both timeless and modern with exquisite couture quality. The Patti Flowers Design Studio works with industry experts to ensure the latest and finest selections of silks, laces, and embellishments are available from around the world. All couture gowns are created at the Dallas Studio. 

Flowers' designs are featured in numerous publications including: Women's Wear Daily, People Magazine, D Magazine, Modern Luxury and the coffee table book Outdoor Weddings by Mallory Samson. She received the Distinguished Alumna Award from Texas Tech/College of Human Sciences in 2011.

The award presentation was followed by a fashion show emceed by Bret McKinney featuring stunning fall fashions from Stanley Korshak, Patti Flowers Design Studio and KidBiz. The clothing was modeled by DSOL Members and their families, past and present DSOL Debutantes and members of the DSO family including staff and musicians.    

Auctioneer Wendy Lambert completed the luncheon with a wide array of live auction items including a DSO Gala Package, Stradivarius Patron Membership, couture from Patti Flowers Studio paired with Richard Eiseman Jewels, and American Airlines miles to fly to any destination of choice.  

Others in attendance included, Kristi Sherrill Hoyl, Jolie Humphrey, Kim Noltemy, Barbara Bigham, Pam Busbee, Melinda Rathke, Betty Reiter, and Donna Arp Weitzman. 

The luncheon was Presented by Veritex Community Bank / Darlene Ellison for the 6th year. Other sponsors included Stanley Korshak, KidBiz, RBC Wealth Management and Sullivan and Tillery Group / Allie Beth Allman & Associates. The Ritz-Carlton was the Luncheon Sponsor. Stanley Korshak was the Patron Party Sponsor.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Dallas Symphony Association and its education and community outreach programs. Some of the quality outreach programs the League supports are: DSO on the Go, Community Concerts and Performances, Cecil and Ida Green Youth Concerts, Symphony Yes!, DSO Kids and Young Strings and Young Musicians.
